In my most recent post I received an anonymous comment regarding my relationship with my husband and I want to address it. Here is the comment, for those who did not see it: Anonymous said... what does a 25 yr old single woman and a 42 yr old man have in common??????? It sounds to me and looks like to me that it was all about money! In a yrs time you went from living with your brother and "just making it" to being a "stepmom"! How does that work? Sounds kinda fishy to me. July 1, 2009 8:49 PM One thing that I have to say, first and foremost, is that I am not at all offended by this comment (though my step-daughter, Claire, who is sitting next to me says "I am!"). I understand that, if you don't know me and you don't know my husband, if you don't know us together, it certainly can look like something really crazy. The thing is, it IS crazy, but a really good kind of crazy! What 25-year-old do you know who would give up a good job that she...
It seems to be a trend for me that I forget my blog exists. Lately I have been working on updating it, and have used the excuse of "I haven't figured out the links at the top of the page" for why I am not writing. So, here I am! Stepping past my excuses, broken links and all, and writing what's on my mind (and yes, I will eventually get those links figured out). I digress ... More than two years ago, this saying danced its way across my computer screen and took my breath away. Every single piece of this phrase excites me! The moment that I first read it, I claimed this as my own - I was going to be fearless. I wanted to figure out what it was that I was most passionate about and to pursue it with fervor. The more time I spent trying to figure out what it is that sets my soul on fire, the more bummed I became. I truly convinced myself that I was passionate about nothing . I didn't have any idea in mind as to what it was tha...
I have several things on my heart to write about, so I'm hoping to combine them all into this one fabulous posting! Colorado has been beautiful, wonderful, restful ... everything that I could have wanted it to be. Yesterday, Claire and I went horseback riding through the Rocky Mountains. It was SO wonderful! I will admit there were times when I was a bit nervous - times when the trail we were on was a little too narrow and the fall next to it a little too steep for my liking. Thankfully, God was and is in control and we made it through the ride without any problems beyond a good case of saddle seat for both of us when we were done! Today was a wonderful and very full day of biking. Our entire clan (Monte, me and all four of our kiddos) left Breckenridge at 10:30 this morning on one very long bike ride. We rode to Frisco, had lunch at A&W, ran a few errands and returned our bikes and rode the shuttle back to Breckenridge. All in all, we rode 12+ miles in the beautiful Ro...
