I so did NOT ...

It's been awhile since I've participated in a "Not Me! Monday", so I decided that today was a good day to start!  Hop on over to Jennifer's blog to see what other people are not doing ... This past week I certainly did not throw myself into hyper overload mode just to survive the planning of my sister's adoption shower.  In doing so, I was not instantly relieved once the shower was over and just my mom, my sister, my niece and myself were left to relax and hang out.  I did NOT at all think that it was THAT moment that I had been waiting for all week! I also did not spend hours making a beautiful dessert, only to scrape it against the top of the refrigerator when taking it out to serve, only to ruin the appearance of it's beauty.  Nope, I'm far more careful than that! My family is leaving to visit my in-laws in Arizona tomorrow, so by no chance have I yet to still pack, still do all of our laundry and still clean our house before we leave.  I am ...

Not Me! Monday is a blog carnival started by MckMama . Visit her blog to see what things others have not been doing this week! My husband and I most certainly did not think that it would be a good idea to bring all four of our children with us when we went to look at a house yesterday. Whatever would make us think that doing such a thing is a good idea is definitely NOT beyond me! While looking at said house, my children did not run around it like wild apes and I certainly did not have to punish them for this. My children are always perfectly behaved and would never think to misbehave in a home that is not their own! This past week, my sweet Ellis was certainly NOT forced to wear a hospital mask for four straight days as he fought the flu. I also did NOT wear a mask every time that I went downstairs to be with him, give him medicine, check on him or even walk by the room that he is in. I am in no way so susceptible to catching illnesses that I willingly wear a hospital mask w...

Not Me! Monday is a blog carnival created by MckMama . Head over to her blog and see the things that other people did not do this week! This morning I most certainly did not drive my son to preschool while wearing my pajamas and donning soaking wet hair. I always allow myself adequate time to get ready and would never have to rush so much to get out the door that, after showering, I put my pajamas back on! I also did not spend part of my morning snacking on graham crackers dipped in the leftover chocolate frosting that I made last night. I would never eat such an unhealthy snack, especially when I'm alone and have nobody to remind me of my limits! I definitely did not fall down our stairs this morning for about the seventh time since I moved into our house. I also did not remind myself that I am the only one who falls down those stairs and that our children seem to have more coordination than I. Ugh! I was by no means frustrated when my three-year-old came and k...

Not Me! Monday is a blog carnival started by MckMama . It provides an outlet, a way to admit to all of those things that you sheepishly have done this past week! Head over to her blog to check out other Not Me! moments! Almost a couple of weeks ago, in the midst of being tremendously ill, I absolutely did NOT soil myself FIVE times in one week. I always maintain full control of *ahem* that and would never lose control over my BMs! I absolutely did not burst out laughing when my three-year-old came up to me and was very concerned that he was "broken" because he "has a double-jointed face". I then did not have to spend almost a half hour consoling him because I certain had not hurt his feelings by my actions. While I was in Target today, I did not confuse the sweet old man who was standing near me by making him think I was talking to him while I was actually having a conversation using the bluetooth device on my cell phone. I am completely annoyed by peopl...

While having guests over for dinner last Thursday, I did not tell my 11-year-old daughter, Claire, to shut up while she was telling them how much of a product stocker I am. By no means would I have eight back-up bottles of handsoap in my cupboard and be embarassed when Claire would choose to announce this. By NO MEANS would I ever use the phrase "shut up" with her - I am a much better parent than that! Since having my wisdom teeth removed this past Friday, I have not been SO sick of the soft-foods diet that I'm on that I would ask our wonderful MckMama for some ideas of what to eat since sweet Stellan eats an entirely pureed diet as well. By no means would I be searching to see what various babies eat just to get something more appealing into my stomach! In fact, I am NOT sitting here at 9:15am eating ice cream for breakfast! That would be absurd :) I have far more common sense as to eat something of nutritional value as opposed to ice cream so early in the morn...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday - a place where we get to spill about the things we would normally NEVER admit to doing! Get in on the fun of other Not Me! Mondays by visiting MckMama's blog here ! Kami's Not Me! Monday: Roadtrip Edition While packing my children in the Suburban at 6:15 on Saturday morning, I did not snap at them that they needed to stop whining that they were tired and just get in the truck and be silent. I also did not get frustrated when, shortly after leaving, I realized that NONE of them fell back asleep! While enjoying an Apple Fritter and a latte from Caribou Coffee, I did not respond by saying, "nothing that you can have!" when my three-year-old asked me what I was eating. I'm not selfish like that, I always share my food with my children and am very happy to do so! I did not choose to drive almost all of the journey entirely because I didn't want to have to deal with the children. If I focused on the road, it would be Monte's j...

This morning I did not tell my 11-year-old that she can do her own laundry because I'm tired of the never ending piles. Nope, not me! While on a boat ride yesterday, I did not hold my three-year-old son upside down at the front of the boat so he could touch the water while the boat was moving , I would never put my son in such a position of potential danger. I most certainly did not fall down my spiral staircase for the fifth time in six months, while knowing my children have never fallen down that staircase in their entire lives. I did not allow my friend to change my son's dirty pull-up yesterday and play with him all while relaxing and enjoying a cup of tea. I would never put my parenting responsibilities on someone else like that. To top it all off, I did not get so excited when the planning of several upcoming events got placed in my lap that I danced around my house. I am by no means that big of a nerd that organizing an event sends me into extreme excitement - n...

I did not get into a "fight" with my rosebush this week, only to get mad and turn around and try to push it out of the way - only to end up MORE scratched up. Not me. Today, in the midst of potty training my son, I did not get confused and ask the cashier at the grocery store if she had to go potty before we left, then proceed to be confused as to why I asked her that and have to explain myself. That would be too embarassing, I would never do that! I did not ask my son if he knows what it means to be quiet because he was asking too many questions and certainly did not get his response of "but God made me to ask so many questions." And to top it all off, I did not answer the phone by saying "hey lover!" because I thought it was my husband's number on the caller ID, only to find out it definitely was not my husband's number being displayed. No way!

This morning, I absolutely did NOT talk to my sister on the phone and let Ellis entertain Colin until he had to leave for school. Nope, not me. I did NOT put Colin back to bed after breakfast because he was being grumpy. I did not then bring Colin to my neighbor's house so I could go grocery shopping in peace ... and I did not get that idea from Colin himself! I did NOT tear apart my whole kitchen while trying to put away the groceries I bought - nope! I did not tell Colin he could NOT go to sleep at 3:30 this afternoon, just so I can have an easier time getting him to sleep tonight! I am not currently avoiding doing laundry by writing this blog. I am not at all anxious for my husband to get home so Claire and I can run errands. Nope - not me! I am not at all loving my very first 'Not me Monday'!!! :)
